History and Politics of the Balkans (IR Master Program)
This course introduces students to the history and politics of the Balkans. It aims to review first the history of the region and the legacy of the regimes established in the Balkans with a special reference to the Ottoman period. Then the course provides students a comprehensive historical evolution in the region. The post-Cold war period’s developments and ongoing debates related to the Balkan politics are other important sections of this course.
